Local News for Local People

It is not our intention to provide a 'live' news services for Ruddington, but rather to feature occasional items of significance to the village which might not have made it into the Nottingham, let alone national, press. Stories will be selected on the wholly unscientific basis of what interests, or amuses, our editorial team and will be posted as and when they appear. So don't expect daily news of earth shattering importance, rather regular reports on village events, the occasional in depth or analytical piece and the odd 'funny'. For in village terms, whilst a declaration of war produces barely a ripple, "Man up ladder outside Red Heart" is a real splash.

Readers who want more comprehensive and regular village news should consider buying 'The Rudd', the fortnightly village newsletter sold in several village shops or available by post to subscribers. It is our hope to see 'The Rudd' flourish and co-exist happily with Ruddington.com.

We would welcome the submission of items for inclusion in our news pages, but they should relate to genuine news, rather than view or issues. Those wanting to air a grievance, influence opinion or push a particular cause can leave messages in the guest book, where your voice will reach the same audience, whilst escaping editorial interference.

Finally, our news reporting aims to be both unbiased and apolitical - we trust you will let us know if this is not the case.
