Tollerton Womens Institute Christmas Social
Wednesday 8th. December 2004
The Tollerton WI where playing host to a number of other WI dignitaries
from around the Shire for their festive celebrations, with food and a variety of entertainment. When another
singing group pulled out at the last minute, Ruddington Musicality was drafted in to ensure that the Show
Went On - and in rip-roaring style too !
The evening started at the Tollerton Methodist Church at 18:00, but the gang didn't get on stage until
19:45. We performed a mixture of fairly gentle songs before going into a 'pop' christmas medley, and
finally finishing off with some traditional Christmas Carols.
The show seemed well received, with toe-tapping and clapping on the livlier songs ('Hello Dolly' and
'Rocking around the Christmas Tree' seemed particular favourites), and the Methodist Church provided
excellent acoustics. A superb buffet supper followed, and we all wended our way back to Ruddington
replete.
