Navigating the Maps and Photos

Navigation for these pages is a little different from the rest of the site. At the top of the page there is a button to return you to the to the Ruddington.com home page and a series of jump menus. You make your selection by clicking on a grey down arrow to reveal the list of choices and then clicking the item you want to access. If you do not have the navigation elements at the top of the page, you need to load the frameset by clicking here.

Maps

The maps menu gives access to street and village centre maps of Ruddington which have been compiled specifically for use on this website. Each map is provided in two sizes - a large version for viewing on a monitor (ideally you should have both a high speed connection and a large screen) and a smaller version which is also suitable for printing. These maps can be printed and reproduced for non-commercial purposes provided that the copyright declaration is retained in full.

Photographs

The photographs are divided into in albums according to whether they are historic or contemporary, each category being further divided by subject. The cut off date between the two sections is 2000, any 20th century photographs being classified as historic. Some photo albums are provided in in two size formats - again the large version is designed for those with 19" or larger monitors and a high speed internet connection. In all cases the album pages acknowledge the photographer or the source of the photograph. We are particularly indebted to Ruddington Local History & Amenity Society for providing many of the photographs in the historic section, the originals of which are in the Ruddington Village Museum collection.

We would welcome the submission of further photographs relating to Ruddington, whether contemporary or historic, for inclusion in these albums. These can be submitted in either electronic form, preferably JPEGs with an image size in excess of 450 x 450 pixels, or as prints, in which case the images will be scanned and the originals returned. Please refer to the contact details page for the addresses to which material may be sent.
