Reaching out to the elderly in our community

Ruddington Rainbow Ministries Homepage

Many of the elderly in our society can suffer a sense of isolation from their community, and feel that they have no future. Our aim is to reach out to all such people, to share the word of God with them, and provide a nurturing Christian environment through worship, fun and fellowship. As we do this we hope to help build bridges between and within the local community.

Our Activities

Rainbow
We hold services in four nursing and residential homes in the village, taking the word of God to those who might otherwise struggle to attend a traditional church service.
Footsteps
A monthly meeting at Leys Court Sheltered Housing complex with a presentation by a variety of Christian speakers. Often amusing, always - we hope - thought-provoking, and with tea and cakes to follow !!!
Outings
We aim to provide approx. three trips per year. With pickups from various points around the village, and a wide variety of destinations, they have proved extremely popular.

The activities are overseen and led by Ruddington Baptist Church with helpers drawn from the wider local Christian Community. The Outings and Footsteps are also promoted in The Honeycomb, Ruddington's very own Christian charity shop.
