Being a Christian
Although our destination is clear - to know God through Jesus Christ and to follow him in everyday life - none of us have arrived yet. We invite all who are on the same journey to join with us, irrespective of progress on the journey to date. Here are some resources you might like to look at:
Being a Baptist
As a Baptist church we also identify ourself with other Baptists - locally, regionally and nationally. This is expressed through our active partnership in mission with the Baptist Churches south of the river Trent and our membership of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the East Midlands Baptist Association.
Mission involvement
We support a variety of people and organisations both in this country and abroad.
- Open Air Compaigners South Notts & Romania. Paul & Julie Wakefield, who are members of this church, have been involved in evangelism in Romania for several years, and also lead school assemblies, puppet shows and children's work at major Christian festivals in this country.
- Baptist Missionary Society and Baptist Union Home Mission Fund. As part of belonging to the wider Baptist family, we support these organisations as they work in the UK and many other countries worldwide.
- The Honeycomb Christian Charity Shop. This Christian charity shop is in the centre of Ruddington, and several members of this church are trustees and/or help in practical ways.
- TraidCraft. As part of our concern for the world's poor and to promote social justice, we aim to buy and use fairly-traded goods wherever possible. Jean Brierley is our Traidcraft representative, and as well as supplying the Honeycomb with Traidcraft products, she also takes monthly orders from individuals.
